Autumn Special: Glamping & Foraging at the Cwtch, Pembrokeshire

Is it just me or did Autumn arrive a little early this year? even so I am not complaining as it has brought some warm sunny days, inspiring Bethan – owner of the Cwtch, to hold a special glamping & foraging weekend at her campsite on the weekend of September 21st-23rd… and we can’t wait as this involves two of our favourite things -  glamping + food!
Foraged wild foods

As the season of Autumn settles in, where better to immerse yourself in the changing leaves & ripening berries than a young woodland near the coast? So – if you’re up for a short glamping break and have always wanted to learn about wild food foraging this is your ideal opportunity!   The weekend includes: * a 2 night stay in one of the eco pods or Bell Tent  on the nights of Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd (depending on availability you might be able to stay Thursday/Friday nights if that helps with travelling). * a wild food forage walk on Friday morning with Pembrokeshire’s premier wild foraging guru Julia Horton-Powdrill -owner of ‘Wild About Pembrokeshire’. This fun and fascinating walk will take us over fields, through woodlands down to the scenic Cleddau estuary and back to camp. Along the way Julia will identify natural wild plants that can be used as a food source (as well as cosmetics & remedies etc) and we will collect some to take back to camp for inclusion in our supper. Who knows what we will find! You may be reassured to know that grubs and the like will not be on the menu – unless of course (unlike me) you are feeling brave! * A camp-fire feast cooked at the Cwtch site on Friday afternoon, which will include our foraged goodies.
